The Gig Harbor Tides boys basketball team (10-5, 7-3 Puget Sound League) overcame the Peninsula Seahawks (4-11, 2-8 PSL) in the 10th annual Fish Basket rivalry game Jan. 15 with a last second bucket for a final score of 56-54.
The teams seemed evenly matched; the Seahawks had a one-point lead of 28-27 at the half. The score was tied at 51-51 in the last minute of the game.
The teams traded the lead until the last 3.6 seconds with the Tides ahead 55-54. One of two free throws after the Seahawks fouled the Tides made the final 56-54.
