We lost our beloved Gary Oct. 2. When his wife Ericka came home from work that afternoon, she found him sitting in his favorite spot with his cat and listening to music while he waited for her to arrive. He was just shy of 73 years old.
Gary was born to William and Doris Richardson in New Hampshire in October 1951. He grew up in Auburn and graduated from Auburn High School.
Gary was exceptionally talented in the arts with a remarkable eye for design and an amazing ear for music. He went on to graduate from the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California, after which he enjoyed a career in interior and graphic design.
And he loved to sing. Gary embraced every opportunity throughout his life to share his love for music and enjoyed many years hosting karaoke.
Gary is survived by his wife Ericka; sons Thomas and Michael; grandson Conner; brother Stephen; and sisters Lori, Sandy and Donna. He will be missed.
He was preceded in death by both parents and his brothers Shomeir and Rick.
A celebration of life for Gary, followed by a potluck for those who knew him, is scheduled for 2 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 1, at the Longbranch Improvement Club.
