Elect a Rep Who Will Protect a Woman's Choice

Posted

While it may appear that we are safe here in Washington state when it comes to access to safe and legal reproductive services, we should do everything possible to ensure our elected officials will protect our rights. This is true even if Donald Trump and his party come into office and enact a national abortion ban with help from the Supreme Court.

Our current state representative, Michelle Caldier (R-26th LD), has a history of voting “No” on bills designed to protect our rights and expand access to abortion services. Don’t be fooled by the one vote she took on the Shield Law. Legislative District 26 is the most swing district in the state and taking one vote to attempt to protect her seat doesn’t negate all her other votes attempting to limit access to abortion services.

Her opponent, Tiffiny Mitchell, is endorsed by Planned Parenthood and Pro-Choice Washington and will move to enshrine a woman’s right to choose within our state’s constitution. Vote to protect reproductive rights in November by voting for Tiffiny.
