Key Pen Parks president resigns

Staff Report

The resignation of Key Pen Parks commissioner president, Elmer Anderson, was announced at the Oct. 12 board meeting. The Commissioners plan to advertise the seat vacated by Elmer Anderson and appoint a replacement in January. Commissioner Greg Anglemyer has assumed the duties of the chair.  In the meantime, the parks board has a full agenda with commissioner elections, budget planning, and the ad hoc committee work on comprehensive plans for KP parks, especially Volunteer Park.

In a letter to his Board, Anderson indicated that his personal business between two residences required that he resign from the Board of Commissioners. Anglemyer shared a specific wish from the resignee. “Elmer says any replacement has to be a champion of pocket parks or they don’t get his job,” he said.
