Lakebay Marina Redevelopment Open House

Posted by bethb@makersarch.com

The Lakebay Marina is an historic site located on the Key Peninsula dating back to 1884. Before closing in 2022,
the site was used for boat launching and as a visitor marina. This redevelopment project offers the opportunity to redevelop an underutilized site, improve access to the water, add amenities for south sound boaters, and honor the site’s historic significance. Redevelopment will also help restore naturally occurring processes and improve environmental health. Impacts of climate change and sea level rise will be considered during project design.

This open house builds on last July’s engagement and shows the community how their feedback has influenced the marina’s in-water, upland, and restoration designs. Attendees will be able to see the progress that has been made and provide more input on what they want to see in the future Lakebay Marina.
