The nationwide No Kings protests Oct. 18 drew 7 million demonstrators from across cultural and political lines, according to news outlets. Organizers counted over 600 people in Key Center, anecdotally thought to be the largest turnout of its kind in KP history, and considerably more than the first such protest June 14. Among homemade signs and marchers in animal costumes, the American flag was the most prominent symbol on display. “It was so good to see those flags,” said one demonstrator. “It’s been misused. We want our flag back. We want our country back.”
