Don't Wait

Jonas Koller’s comments in his column “Moving Forward from Charlie Kirk” (November 2025) are insightful and provocative. I’ve read and reread it. His experience as a high school student and vision of our divided political life and discourse are tragically correct. Our anger and powerlessness must drive us to do something.

The cover photos on the front page by Lisa Bryan are also powerful and provocative. It shows us a way forward, no matter which side of the neighborhood we live on. Citizens (maybe, strangers until the moment) are reaching across the space to assist each other while surrounded by others expressing their First Amendment opinions and reminding us to make America kind again in the process.

It will take courage and time. Don’t wait.
