Smoke over Case Inlet and the rest of the area came from fires in the Cascades to the east and south, but the KP also had its share of wildfires this summer. The KP Fire Department sent an engine company to join strike teams fighting the Rochester fire and received assistance from the Department of Natural Resources and other agencies to fight local fires.
