The Peninsula Seahawks girls basketball team lost to the undefeated North Thurston Rams, 76-48, in the first round of the South Sound Conference District 3/4 Girls Basketball Tournament in Lacey Feb. 9.

Seniors Daisy Peay and Kaylia Heidelberg and junior Grace Richardson each had nine points for the Seahawks.

Because Peninsula is in the double-elimination bracket, the season continues for the Seahawks and the girls will host Mountain View (Vancouver) Feb. 13 at 6 p.m. The winner of that game will face either Gig Harbor or Timberline Feb. 16, at 5 p.m. at Mount Tahoma High School in Tacoma with a trip to the state playoffs at stake.

Mountain View beat Capital, 62-38.
