OBITUARIES

Dustin Michael Jones

Posted

Born in Tacoma July 22, 1976, Dustin Jones died in Lakebay July 26. He was 49 years old.

Dustin lived most of his life where he grew up in Rosedale and didn’t venture far from the Gig Harbor area. He worked in construction with carpentry as his main trade. He enjoyed his work and always had a story to tell about his day. Some were funny and some not so much.

Whenever something went wrong, Dustin looked at the bright side and said it could be fixed. He had a great sense of humor, was quick with a witty comment or pun, and could always add to the conversation. He loved to talk, a trait he certainly got from his dad. He could strike up a conversation with a stranger on a bus, in a grocery store, on the beach, or wherever he was around people. Young or old, it didn’t matter. He was very charismatic.

Dustin was always quick to jump in and help family or friends with a project. He enjoyed the simple side of life: reading, beachcombing with his mom, watching his niece and nephews’  sporting events, small car repair, and fixing things that may or may not be broken. His last big accomplishment was when he and his brothers built a home for their mom, where he lived until his death.

Dustin was preceded in death by his father, Mike Jones; grandparents; a few aunts and uncles; his longtime girlfriend Jessica; and their dog, Sissy. Dustin adored that dog.

He is survived by his mother, Julie (Morin) Jones; brothers Shane, Aaron (Ramona), and Brandon (Ali); their three children Sonny, Eva, and Indiana; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Dustin is and will always be missed.

Donations in Dustin’s honor may be made to any animal shelter/rescue or your favorite charity.
