Food Backpacks 4 Kids From Facebook post dated March 12: Food Backpacks 4 Kids Will Keep Food Flowing to Children and Families During School Closure! All families who receive a food backpack can continue to receive food in our new Weekly "Drive by" Food Pick Up Program. We will have food available for Saturday drive-by pick up each week at three locations: . Henderson Bay High School parking lot . Gateway Park parking lot . Evergreen Elementary parking lot In addition, ANY family in the Peninsula School District with school-aged children in need of food should send an email to — just let us know which pickup location is most convenient for you, your name and the number of children. Food will be available for pickup on Saturday, March 21 at noon and every Saturday thereafter after until school is back in session. Families without transportation should also email us — we want every student in the district to not have any issues with food insecurity.

Key Pen Parks Parks remain open, but please follow social distancing guidelines. Event cancellations will be posted on and Facebook.

Key Peninsula Business Association Annual dinner auction has been postponed until further notice

Key Peninsula Civic Center Closed for all public and private events. Regularly scheduled events will resume when Peninsula School District reopens., Postponed events include: Comedy Night (April 4) and Livable Community Fair (May 9). New dates to be determined.

Key Peninsula Community Services All senior events and activities suspended through April. THE FOOD BANK REMAINS OPEN.  10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Thursday and Friday; open until 5 p.m. Wednesday. Closed for lunch. No food donations at this time, monetary donations are always welcome.

The senior lunch program continues and lunches are available for pickup on a drive-through basis with one day advance notice by calling the KPCS office. Door-to-door delivery is being provided by The Mustard Seed Project for seniors unable to pick up drive-through lunches.

KPCS is streaming tai chi and exercise classes with their regular instructors on YouTube, and will provide recorded DVDs if necessary. Dental van visits are postponed. 253-884-4440

Key Peninsula Sportsmen’s Club Events cancelled through April

The Mustard Seed Project No drop-in hours, all events and activities suspended through April. Individual rides will still be provided, but bus rides are cancelled.

The Mustard Seed Project can deliver lunches prepared by Key Peninsula Community Services to seniors unable to pick up drive-through lunches. TMSP is also working on a program to safely deliver groceries and supplies to shut-in seniors.

Peninsula Light Company Main lobby of business offices closed to the public. 253-857-5950, Update, March 20: PenLight temporarily suspended customer disconnects and may waive late-fees for at least the next month. PenLight will continue to offer assistance programs including payment arrangements and qualifying discounts. Anyone facing hardship should contact them. Penlight also changed its Project Help program, extending it through May, increasing funding and adjusting application criteria to allow those in need to receive additional funds even if they have already received a bill credit through Project Help. Individuals can also apply for assistance if they’ve recently been laid off. You can help! “For those members that are in the position to help their neighbors, we encourage donating to the Project Help program,” Penlight said in a statement. “During this time, our Board of Directors will double each donation given. No administrative costs are included, and all contributions are tax-deductible. Contact Member Services Department for assistance or additional resources at 253-857-5950.
