Jimmy moved on early Thanksgiving morning, Nov. 27, 2025, to live eternally with his family and friends he missed so much on earth. He died in Lakebay at age 79.
Jim was a shipfitter working for naval shipyards in Bremerton, Bangor, San Diego, and Pearl Harbor. He retired in 2005 as an assistant project manager at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard Shop II. His projects were always classified as “Top Secret,” and it was appropriate that, following their long careers together, the U.S.S. Parche and Jim retired at the same time.
He was a father, leader, mentor, and trusted friend to all that he had the good fortune to know. He was kind and generous of spirit — and reminded those he loved that joy is always present if we allow ourselves to look for it.
Jimmy is survived by his wife, Laura Jean; his five sons, Mike, Steve, Paul, Rob, and Eddie; nine grandchildren; and his great-grandson.
A celebration of Jim’s life is scheduled July 25 on his beloved Vaughn Bay. He would have been 80 years old. If you are interested in attending, please reach out to may.eddie@gmail.com.
